A thank you letter from our own Reilly Carroll

Dear Sound View Knitting Guild,

On December 28th, 2016 I completed my 17 month journey toward my Girl Scout Gold Award - the highest rank in scouting.
To earn this award, a Girl Scout must design a sustainable project to help her community. I chose to collect hand knit, sewn and crocheted blankets of all shapes, sizes and materials to be donated to the pediatric patients at Yale - New Haven Children's Hospital. I reached out to family, friends and members of my community. The ladies at the Sound View Knitting Guild were amazingly helpful and supportive. My original goal was to collect 100 blankets since 2016 was the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting. I reached my goal sooner than expected. On my first trip to donate blankets to the hospital I had 100 blankets. My second and third trips both had 50 beautiful kid friendly blankets. I am so happy and excited about that that my project was so successful, and especially proud of delivering over 200 blankets - and counting - to children in need. They will continue to provide a sense of security to pediatric patients.
I want to thank each and every member of the guild for their motivation over the past year. My project could not have been possible without you ladies.
Sincerely,
Reilly Carroll
