Three Needle Bind Off This is a technique to acquire a nice, neat seam while avoiding having to sew it.  It creates a strong seam. It can only be used where there are two sets of live stitches as in the shoulder of a sweater

I-Cord Bind Off This bind off produces a corded edging on your knitting. It is attractive on the bottom of a sweater or the finishing of a pocket or collar edge

Our March, 2012, Meeting was the first where we tried a new format.  Lauren Scarpa owner of Country Yarns in Wallingford, CT,  brought her knowledgeable staff and set up stations for learning the Provisional Cast On, the Three Needle Bind Off and a lovely finish called an iCord bind off. There was also a station for learning soap felting.

As always Lauren brought tables full of the newest Spring and Summer yarns along with her for purchase.
A good time was had by all. Thanks to Lauren and her staff for such well prepared programs! Click on links for the written instructions, courtesy of Country Yarns

Provisional Cast On - Although there are a number of ways to do a provisional cast on, here's a video tutorial of the technique Lauren taught.
